Bihar SIR

Opposition INDIA bloc leaders in Bihar marched towards Lok Bhavan in Patna on October 8, demanding Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar’s resignation over alleged irregularities in the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls. Police barricades halted the procession, and RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav accused the authorities of suppressing the Opposition’s voice.

Bihar Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary sparked controversy after saying critics could find only five videos of sexual assault and molestation in the State. The Opposition RJD criticised the remark, arguing that even one such incident should be treated seriously.
