Flood Situation in Bihar

Bihar Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary directed officials to prepare and submit a detailed assessment of flood-related damage and rehabilitation costs across the State at the earliest.

The flood situation in Bihar has intensified following heavy rainfall and rising water levels in the Gandak River. Several areas of West Champaran, East Champaran, Gopalganj and Saran are facing increased flood risks after embankment breaches. Floodwater has affected villages, agricultural fields and road connectivity, creating difficulties for local residents. The Bihar administration and disaster-management teams are closely monitoring the situation, while rescue, relief and emergency measures are being strengthened to protect people in vulnerable and low-lying areas
